Gear You Need As A Sound Professional

I often get asked about what products I love to use and would recommend. So I thought I would create a page recommending pro audio gear I like and where to find them.
Now there is hundreds of products available for the sound professional. These are just a few. I’ll try to list as many as I can and links to where to find them. I also recommend trying different ones to see what suits you and your workflow best.
Expendables
This is probably the one I get asked about the most. What are the best rechargeable batteries? What Tape do you like to use? What’s the best wind protection for lav mics?

Batteries

The Powerex Pro rechargeable AA NiMH batteries (1.2V, 2700mAh) - 8-Pack is a package of 8 AA nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries with Ultra high capacity of 2700mAh. These batteries are built for performance and optimized for high drain devices by providing increased run time and improved low temperature performance down to -20 degree. They can be recharged up to 500 times.
1.5V AA 4150mWh rechargeable batteries are far superior in voltage retention compared with traditional NiMH rechargeable battery. Constant 1.5V can provide best performance in heavy load discharge and the users feel a fresh battery all the time during use.
These are NON rechargeable batteries. But they will run the longest, are lighter and run better in the extreme cold then rechargeables.

Warning! Do just use rechargeable lithiums in this charger. Even though it says you can it will cause them to overheat and stop working.

Yet another great charger.
You have a choice of rapid and soft charge modes. Rapid charge enables 8 batteries to be fully charged to their maximum capacities in 1-2 hr. Soft charge takes about 3-4 hr. but provides greater battery life, as well as compatibility with older, lower-capacity batteries. Tapes
Best tape for when applying the Lav mic to skin.
